Growing up in Swindon, Sarina first picked up a pair of drumsticks at the age of 12 and was drawn towards the drums in an environment where there were very few female drummers. She had her first drum lessons and instantly fell in love with the instrument.
Opting to seek a career in music, Sarina furthered her music studies at The Academy of Music and Sound in Swindon, achieving a BTEC National Diploma in Music in 2009. She also discovered a love for teaching which lead her to complete The Music Educator Programme at Access to Music in Bristol in 2010, achieving a Distinction and a Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS).
Feeling inspired, Sarina embarked on a Foundation Degree in Music Performance and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours Degree in Performance Industries at The Academy of Music and Sound in Swindon in 2010 - 2013, achieving a 2:2 in both qualifications. With drums as her specialist instrument, the courses focused on technical and stylistic techniques, live performance and education.
Sarina has also had varied experiences playing live and in the studio as a drummer for a wide variety of cover and original bands including three years in a successful rock covers band (Broken Image - www.facebook.com/brokenimageband), which involves regular live shows.
